Happy Summer Days~

Hi all my blog friends! I wanted to share this quick post with you to show you a card and matching tag that I created earlier in the week for a challenge on my yahoo group NorthEast Scrapbook Friends. I used my tags, bags, boxes and more cartridge to cut out the tag.

Both the card and tag were made using bazzill cardstock. The stamped images were from a stamp that I purchased at Michael's awhile back. I used my Paper Trey Ink's ticket border die to create my card title using Lawn Fawn's Claire's ABC's to create the title. The ticket border title is popped up on foam adhesive. I used some trimmings from Lawn Fawn to create the bows on both the tag and card. I used my black gel pen to create some faux stitching along the sides and to create the seagulls.
Well that is it for today my friends! Have a happy weekend!!!

Mojo Monday Sketch- Thank You

Hello Blog Friends and good morning! Yesterday was a very busy day for me and I was not able to get my card posted so I'm posting it today. My card today was inspired by the Mojo Monday Sketch #247, either to make a square or round card.
I decided to make a round card using my cricut expression machine and my Elegant Edges cartridge. This card has many layers, all my cardstock used was by Bazzill and Paper Trey Ink.

The patterned papers are from the Almanac Collection by Prima. The squares are popped up on foam tape. My sentiment is a stamp from Lawn Fawn and I cut it out and framed it using my EK success
labels punch. I added a bow using some lawn trimmings cord and popped the sentiment up on foam tape as well.

I finished off my card adding some buttercup liquid pearls and some cute little roses by American Crafts. Well that is my card for today, thank you for stopping by!!

Simon Says Anything but a card~

Happy Sunday blog friends! Whew what a great weekend it has turned out to be! I ended up spending a lot of time in my craft room this weekend and I managed to get alot on my "to-do" list done. I am actually in the beginning stages of starting up a project that is going to take some time to complete but I promise to show you a sneak peek in a later post. So onto the challenge this week over at Simon Says, the challenge is to create anything but a card. So I brainstormed of what I could make and I headed over to my cricut cartridges and pulled out the Tags, Bags, Boxes and More cartridge and decided to make this cute little purse.

I cut this out twice at 9" using some red cardstock by core'dinations and some really pretty floral patterned paper by Studio G. Can you believe I got that patterned paper at Wal-Mart for only $1??? It came as a paper pack with about 10 sheets of different patterns. Hey for a dollar I was going to put it to good use! I added some green trim from Prima along the bottom on all four sides and added some to the top of the clasp. I added a cute green flower brad by American Crafts to keep it closed. To finish this purse off I added some prima flowers and I created pearls using Buttercup liquid pearls.

I'm going to give this cute little purse to my daughter because she always tells me that I never make her anything and she will just love this! I'm going to add a few nail polishes inside since she loves to paint her nails.

Well thank you for stopping by today!

Anything Goes using "Green" with Just A Scrappin' ....

Hello blog friends!!! I am super excited as this is my first card as DT member for Just A Scrappin'! We have such a great challenge going on this week full of ideas and lots of inspiration and I sure hope you come and play with us! This week's challenge is "Anything Goes" Make a card, layout, or project however; the color  Green is the theme plus any other color that you would like to use. So here is my
card for this week's challenge:

I had a lot of fun creating this card. I used Bazzill white cardstock and some gorgeous green stripe/floral double-sided patterned paper from American Crafts. I used my ruler and grabbed my xacto knife and cut a slit about 2 inches or so to create an opening to showcase "what's underneath".  I folded the flaps and adhered them down. The beautiful floral design that is revealed was created by using the Wildflowers stamp set by Hot off the Press. I used my Paper Trey Inks; New Leaf, Pure Poppy and Orange zest to create the background focal. My sentiment stamps were stamped out in momento tuxedo black ink and they are from the "You Are" stamp set by Anna Griffin. Both sentiment pieces are popped up on foam tape.

To finish my card off I added two yellow paper clips for some dimension on the folded flaps and created a bow using some sheer peach ribbon that I had in my stash. I also inked up around all my white edges using some tea dye distress ink. I normally do not always finish the insides of my cards but with this card I did. Here is the inside:

Well thats my card for today and I hope you decide to pull out your favorite papers and supplies and give this challenge a try! The challenge will be open for one week so head on over to Just A Scrappin'
and get in on the fun, and while you are there check out what my DT sisters have created!!
Hope to see you there!

Sunny Skies~

Hello Friends! Hope all is well in your part of the world today! I was looking outside my living room window and saw how bright and sunny it was and it made me think of the new Lawn Fawn stamp set Sunny Skies. I just adore Lawn Fawn stamps and this set has to be my favorite! I just love the beautiful smileys that come along with this cheery and bright set. For my card today, I used Mojo Monday's Sketch 246 .

Here is my card:

Basically almost everything I used is Lawn Fawn! The white and black cardstock is from Bazzill. I paper pieced the sun and kites using papers from Lawn Fawn's Bright side petite 6x6 paper pad. I stamped the clouds using my momento summer sky ink and colored the kite tails using my copics Y08 and G14.

The kites, sun and the panel they are on, are all mounted on with foam adhesive for some added dimension. I tied cute bows using Lawn Fawn's Lawn trimmings cord and decided to put them in the squares for a cute look to compliment the smile on the sun's face! I even finished off the inside of the card using one of the sentiments in this stamp set that says, "You are my sunshine" and used some of the chevron patterned paper from the petite bright side paper pad.

Well thats it for my card today! I am entering this in the Mojo Monday challenge this week. Just a reminder that tomorrow the design team and I, over at Just A Scrappin' will be showcasing some fabulous projects to inspire you so be sure to stop by the blog and stop back here! You won't want to miss all the fun!

Happy Birthday!

Hi Blog Friends! Today I want to share a card I made for the first Your Next Stamp Challenge being held at Split Coast Stampers. The theme was to use Pink, Green and Orange so here is what I came
up with...

.

I used the Mojo Monday Sketch #244 for my card

The papers used for this card are Bazzill and My Mind's Eye. The sentiment, cupcake and heart stamps are from the Avocado Arts stamp set called Sweet Treat Sweetie

I colored the cupcake and heart using my prismacolor pencils and gamsol. I added some glossy accents to give it a little bit of a shine. To finish off my card I inked up all my paper edges using some Tim Holtz tea dye distress ink and added a strip of American Crafts glitter tape across the top, also adding some prima flowers and a pearl.

Here is a little peek at the inside of the card

Well that is all I have for today but be sure to tune in tomorrow as I have some very exciting news to share with you all!!! Have a fantastic day!

Tuesday Hugs & Kisses & Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge~

Hello blog friends! Today I am playing along with Sweet Sunday Sketch challenge #160. Here is the sketch and my take on it.

For my card I used this gorgeous Ruffles Marci stamp by La-La Land Crafts. I think she is just so darn cute!! What made me fall in love with this particular stamp was the ruffles on her dress and that adorable head band in her hair. I used Bazzill cardstock for my base and layers and the patterned paper is from K and Company. I inked up all the layers using tea dye distress ink. I basically chose my papers first and then used my copics to match the paper. I colored in Marci's hair using C5, C8 and C10. For her dress and hair band I used RV66 and RV99. I used E000, E00 and YR01 for her skin and used RV36 for her lips. Her shoes I used C10 and 100. It may be hard to see the sentiment on the banner but it says "Hugs and Kisses xoxo" and its from Papertrey Ink's Handwritten Notes. =) To finish off my card I used my white sakura pen to add some dots to her hair piece and added a little "button" on her shoes. I like the look of it =) I also took some gold platinum liquid pearls to give her some earrings, bracelet and a necklace. Afterall, girls love jewelry right? LOL. A few brads from My Mind's eye completes the card. Here is a little peek of the inside, sentiments inside are from Our Daily Bread Design's Mini Tags 1 stamp set.

Well hope you like my card today. Have a wonderful day and a great week ahead!

Update on Me!

Hi blog friends, happy Monday to you! As promised I am here to give you the update on my doctor visit this morning. My MRI came back showing some progression since my last one so my doctor wants me to start going back to pain management for epidural shots. I've been there and done that already! In addition I have had acupuncture, tens units, cortizone shots and physical therapy multiple times. Not sure that this time around will be any different but I'll give it a go. My doctor is still keeping me on my pain medications for my pain. For those of you who are wondering why I'm in pain so much, I have a very bad back and need surgery(only I don't want surgery, too risky). I have a protruding disk that is sitting on my sciatic nerve causing lots of nerve damage to my left side of the body and I have a lumbar ridiculathpy and constant back spasms. It truly stinks! My blood work all came back and showed that my thyroid levels are extremely low so my doctor has upped the medicaiton for that. Also, I am no longer borderline diabetic, I am now a true type-2 diabetic! No more controlling by diet. Now I have to take Metformin twice a day to help lower my blood sugar levels. SIGH! Ok but there was some good news at this visit. In the past 4 weeks I have lost 9 pounds due to changing my eating habits to a healthier diet!! YAY! The metformin will also cause me to lose between 10-20 more pounds per my doctor so that is happy news for me! BUT ....WAIT FOR IT...... my mammogram came back NORMAL... it's benign~ SO thank you to all of you who said prayers for me and kept me in your thoughts! Well thats it for the update but stay tuned because tomorrow I am going to have another card for ya with a new stamp from La-La Land Crafts. =)

Sprinkles of happy Thoughts & Avocado Arts!

Hello my wonderful blog friends!!! I know, I know... *shaking my head* ..It has been a couple weeks since I've last posted. I posted awhile back about being under the weather and having a mammogram done. Since that post, I have been sick and have been on antibiotics for strep throat, had my MRI taken on my back, tried being super mom while sick to wrap up the end of the school year with my daughter Gia. So proud of her, she's advancing to the 4th grade!! I sure want to know where the time flies because I cannot believe how fast she's growing! Oh before I forget, I go to the doctor's office first thing tomorrow morning to get all my results so I'll keep you posted. Okay so.. yesterday was my birthday and I was able to celebrate it by going to the Great American Scrapbook Convention here in Arlington. I am so so happy that I went because I met the most amazing and sweet Michelle, Co-Owner of Avocado Arts!!! A stamp company that has the most AMAZING stamp sets I ever seen!!!!! And guess what?? They just turned 1 and they are celebrating thier first birthday by giving away a one year subscription to their monthly stamp club! All you have to do is create a card or project using their stamps and post it to their Facebook page by June 15th. I fell in love with these stamps the minute I laid eyes on them and of course I had to purchase some of these amazing sets to play with *grin*. So today I made this card using the Avocado Stamp set Wishes and Kind Thoughts. I fell in love with this cute little owl!!!!

My card is a standard A2 card 5 1/2 by 4 1/4. I used Bazzill cardstock for my card base and mat layers and the fun patterned paper that I used is from My Mind's Eye, the Stella & Rose collection. I fell in love with this patterned paper! Such beautiful girly designs and colors. I used my Martha Stewart starburst border punch for my side panel. I stamped the owl and umbella on some white Bazzill cardstock first then I paper pieced the owl's hat and shirt and also the umbrella top. I stamped them again onto some of the patterned papers and then cut them out and used my two way glue pen to put it together. I used some gold platinum liquid pearls on the owl's clothes and on the umbrella to give it some added dimension and I gave him some googly eyes just for the fun of it!

I colored the owl using my copics E51, E53 and E57 for his body and used YR68 to color in the umbrella handle and inside the umbrella top. It may be hard to see but I also used the raindrops from this stamp set in the background. I stamped the raindrops in Momento Sky Blue. I made the grass using my copics G14 and G28. The sentiment "Sprinkles of Happy Thoughts" is from Paper Trey Ink's Handwritten Notes stamp set. Those of you who follow me know that I go to this stamp set for lots of my sentiments because it's just one of my favorties! To finish my card off I added some prima flowers with a brad from the Lost & Found collection from MME and I added a bow using some green and yellow twine from The Twinery. All my edges were inked up using some tea dye distress ink and all I have to do now is find this cute owl a home!

Well thats it for my card today and I hope you enjoyed it! Now please go visit Michelle at Avocado Arts and check out their amazing blog! They have some great cards and projects for inspiration and a great Pit Crew(DT) that are oh so very talented. Go show them some love and tell them I sent ya!
