Guest Designer Spotlight!

Hi everyone and happy Saturday!  This is Darlene of Dar's Crafty Creations and I've hijacked Jo's blog post for today!  What fun!!  Truth be told, I'm thrilled and honored to have been asked by Jo of
Jo's Scrap Shack  to be a guest designer on her blog today!

Please let me show you what I have created especially for you today.

I just love making homemade flowers and my favorite design style is vintage.  So, for today's card, I've combined these two favorites!  There are so many adorable vintage images available to create with and I think this sweet girl is just precious.   Since the image is in sepia tone I wanted to give her a POP of COLOR with my homemade flowers. This is so easy to do with all the flower making dies available.   Today I've chosen 4 different dies from Spellbinder D'lites and a variety of ink.  I'm using Spellbinder dies 'Blossom One', 'Blossom Two', 'Blossom Three' and 'Blossom Four' along with various colors of Stampin' Up and Tim Holtz distress inks.  I prefer using large sponge daubers for each of the different color shades.

Here are the various flowers I colored and created for my card.  I've actually combined pieces from some of one die set with another die set to create a unique flower of my own.

To tie my kaleidoscope of flower colors together in my design, I used the excess on my sponge daubers to color the paper doily (behind my image), a white butterfly, as well as the outside edge of my base card which is 5x7 in size  (see photos).

By die cutting larger flourishes then cutting them into various pieces, I was able to add even more dimension to my floral cluster in just a matter of minutes.

So there you have it!  Get those floral die cuts out ... cut them in white ... then add what ever combination of color you want to them.  I like to make several different kinds and keep them in a clear box so I have them available for those times when I'm rushed.

Thanks so much to Jo for the honor of Guest Designing on her blog today!Enjoy your weekend everyone and please feel free to pop over to my blog ANY TIME!!

Darlene your project is gorgeous as always and I am thrilled to have you on my blog today! Thank you so very much for sharing your beautiful talent with us and for inspiring us all!! Love ya!!

Well friends, thanks so much for stopping by today. I hope you all have a great weekend!
Until next time, Enjoy life's blessings~

FFC #90 "Anything Goes"

Hello sweet friends!
Welcome to another Fun~day Friday Challenge!!

 This week's Challenge:
"Anything Goes"
Create a card, layout or
project of your choice!

Our Sponsor this week is:

 Bugaboo Stamps
The winner will win 7 digital stamps of their choice!!!!
So make sure to play along this week~

    Starts: Friday, May 29th  12:00AM
Ends: Friday, June 5th 6:00PM
(Eastern time)

I had so much fun creating my card for today's challenge. I used Bugaboo's Kid Pocket Topper Girl for my image and colored her in using Bic Mark it markers. What do you think? I love her!

Cardstock is the new Watermelon Wonder and Whisper White from Stampin' Up and patterned papers are from a small stack by DCWV. I ran the floral paper through my Zutter DIA to distress it.
The white cardstock and the green chevron paper were cut out using my Peek a frame creative cuts by Mama Elephant.

The sentiment is from 3 Twenty Craft's Simple Sentiments
and was inked up using Ranger archival black ink. To finish off the card I added some flowers from Wild Orchid Crafts and added a tiny bit of glossy accents on the large flower and on her hair bow. While the glossy accents was still wet, I added a tiny bit of Judikins ultra fine glitter embossing powder for the sparkle. As you can see, I also added another 3x4 layer to the inside of the card that was also cut from the Peek a frames set. No inside sentiment as I could not decide what I wanted it to say. Since its a "just because" card, I may leave it blank and just hand write a little note to a special friend or family member. I didn't necessarily like the way the markers colored today. For some reason, I had a much harder time blending. Live and ya learn! Next time I will just go back to using my copics or spectrum noirs. But in any case I hope you like her! :)
Now let's see what the FFC Design Team has created for this Challenge:

IMPORTANT!! Stampin Up News....

Hello my friends,
I hope your day is going well. I wanted to jump on here real quick to write this post to you and to ask you for a sweeeeet favor :)

I decided that I wanted to keep my Stampin Up business separate from this blog because this is and will be, the home of 3 Twenty Crafts and Jo's Scrap Shack. I feel like too much will just end up becoming too confusing or chaotic. So I created a new blog that will be strictly for Stampin Up only. I would kindly ask that you all join my new blog to support me and get my followers up there. This will also benefit you too because there will be no confusion and if you want to know anything regarding Stampin Up, you will find it all on the new blog without anything else
sharing the spotlight. :)

I will announce the winner of the gift bag kit on the new blog on June 2nd from today's post. So in order to know if you are the winner, you will want to be subscribed to the blog.

I will be referencing both blogs on each blog as there will be a lot happening on both blogs that I am sure you would like to know about. I have a lot of things in store and its just a matter of a little bit of brainstorming and a lot of patience. :)

So if you will be so kind my sweet friends and help me out, and I will in return offer you a few ways to win some goodies! Please hop on over to Jo's Stampin' Studio and subscribe by email. And here are a few incentives that can help you win some goodies!

  • Subscribe to my blog and have your name entered to win the gift bag kit not once but 2x!
  • Refer a friend to my blog and your name will be entered to win a $25 credit to my Stampin' Up Store if your friend subscribes! Your friend will NEED to leave a comment or email me with YOUR name as the one who referred them, in order to be eligible for that gift credit. The more friends that subscribe to my blog through your referrals, the more your name goes into the drawing! Make sure to tell your friends about this too, because after they subscribe, they can refer their friends so that they can have chances to win the gift credit too!
  • Get 20 friends to subscribe to my blog and receive 30% off your first order, 20% off your second order and 10% off your third order!
Well my friends, I hope I have inspired you enough to get your friends subscribing  and to be able to see and feel the love and support from you all.
Until next time, enjoy life's blessings!

OMG A video & a Giveaway!!!

Hello Everyone!
Did ya see the post title? I actually created a video for you!!! It has been a long while since I have done a video. This video was not easy to do either! You can tell that I am not used to making them LOL.

I am however, going to start making more videos for you. I will try my best to start making them more often and having fun with it. So thank you in advance for having a peek and I hope you like :)

If you want to win a mini treat bag kit (board not included), just leave me a comment telling me what your favorite new "In color" is by Friday, May 29th by 11:59pm and I will randomly select one winner! Winner will be announced on Tuesday, June 2nd! My birthday!

 ***** PROMOTION
Get half off the first two months that you join up with Paper Pumpkin!!! Promotion is only good until 11:59pm, June 10th. To order your Paper Pumpkin monthly kit subscriptions, click HERE . To learn more about Paper Pumpkin, read below.

Want to know more about Paper Pumpkin?? Let me give you all the details and build up your excitement!! Paper Pumpkin comes in a monthly subscription where you can lock in month to month, order a 3 month subscription, a 6 month or a 12 month subscription. The more months you sign up for, the greater the savings! The best PP prepaid subscription kit to purchase is the 3 month kit. Why do you ask? Well, each month's kit is something different. One month it can be a card kit, the next it could be a home decor project and so on. And you may get a kit that you don't connect with too much but the next month's kit might be something you just adore and love! If you only sign up for one month, you will not get to experience the kit in its entirety because you will miss out on other projects and all the goodies that are jammed packed inside this box. My best suggestion would be to give the three months a try! You love to craft right? And Stampin Up has taken the guess work out of it for you! You don't have a lot of time? No problem! Just sit down and create a project in just  half an hour! These kits were designed specifically for people who love to craft, who don't have a lot of time to dedicate to crafting and for those who get frustrated because they do not know what to do. If that sounds like you, then these kits are for YOU! Give it a try! I promise you won't be disappointed. I have already done one of the kits and oh my lord, I loved it! Easy Peasy, coordinating, awesome stamps and so much   fun!! So how do you get started??? Read below.

Get Started
It's so easy to get started. Simply pick which prepaid kit subscription you would like and add the item number to your order (if you need help ordering, send me an email with your order and phone number and I will help you).

Ask Jo! It's Talk Time Tuesday

Hello my sweet friends!
Welcome back to another Talk time Tuesday! How was your nice Holiday? I know some of you were off work in observance of the Holiday and I am hoping you were able to get some good craft time in! I also wanted to say Thank you to all of our men and women who have served or do serve to keep our country safe.

So today's question comes from Angie who wants to know,  "Just like you Jo, I have many company's inks and product. How do you decide which paper and inks to use when you go to create a project?"

  Hello Angie!
Well this is a great question!! Especially considering that I have inks from 7 different companies!!! In the past, I would use just one company's inks and stuck with it for quite some time. Since starting to craft again, I am now on a huge goal to use up my stash and nothing else. So now my mindset is to use something "new" or "un-used for quite some time" each time I decide to craft and make something. For instance, on Friday when I sat down to create, I used Stampin Up inks and then today while crafting, I used Hero Arts inks. I am going to rotate using different company's inks each time I create. Last week while creating a gift for my mom, I used an old kit from Close to my heart that I had in my stash now for nearly 5 years! It turned out lovely and the papers were gorgeous! So that is my way of thinking, just rotate the inks and papers each time you sit down to create. It has been working for me so far. :)  Thanks so much for writing in Angie! I hope to hear from you again soon.

Before I go, I wanted to let you know about this awesome online class that I am taking. Incentive Ink  by Marjie Kemper is a class teaching mixed media effects.
Inventive Ink
I was given this awesome class as an early birthday present from a friend and have just started in on lesson one. It is already intriguing and so much fun!!!  The class overall teaches techniques in blending, using stencils, using various mixed media mediums such as stains, distress inks, texture pastes, alcohol inks, layering and more! I am super excited to be able to take this class and in my own opinion, this is a class that is worth the money. Of course I didn't pay for it myself, but so far the content of what I am learning is definitely worth every penny of the class cost. So if you are looking for a really good class to take, consider this one! You can purchase this class HERE .

Well friends, that is it for today. Please write in with questions you want answered or topics you would like to see talked about during our Tuesdays together :)

Thanks for stopping by and until next time.... Enjoy life's blessings~
